Earlier this week, you may remember that we shared a video of a young bombing survivor singing the song “It Is Well With My Soul.” Today, I want to share with you a bit of backstory behind that timeless hymn.
The writer of the song, Horatio Spafford, lived through one of life’s deepest sorrows when he lost all four of his children in a tragic accident. I simply cannot imagine the kind of pain that comes with a loss of this scale, but the praise that Spafford offered amidst his grief is incredible.
Whatever season you’re walking through today, I encourage you to lean on the Lord to provide the peace that surpasses all understanding. God bless.
